Series E - ECM Modelling
Purpose
E1 provides access to the Object Catalogue, also described by the manual as the Style Code Dictionary. It gives users an interactive way to browse available ECM Objects and compose Style_Code strings through guided selection.
When to Use
Use E1 before ECM object generation when users need to identify valid Style Type Keys, Style Variant Keys, or component selections for ECM objects.
Inputs
The manual does not provide a detailed input list for E1. Its primary role is catalogue access and Style Code composition.
Outputs
- Composed Style Code strings that can be copied and applied to survey data.
- User understanding of available ECM object styles and variants.
Workflow Summary
- Run E1 to access the Object Catalogue.
- Browse available ECM objects.
- Compose Style Code strings through guided selection.
- Copy the composed strings into Raw Descriptions or apply them through the input mechanisms described in Style_Code_Input_Mechanisms.

Reverse-Engineering Notes
When reverse-engineering E1, identify:
- where catalogue data is stored;
- how Style Type Keys, Variant Keys, and Component Keys are presented;
- how a final Style Code string is composed;
- whether the output is only copied text or also written to drawing objects.
Source Basis
HAPI User Manual.pdf, Section 3.1.1.
Open Questions
- Confirm whether E1 is a Dynamo graph, a helper interface, or a catalogue launcher in the installed package.
